Please pray for the happy repose of the soul of Fr. James McEvoy.

Rev Professor James Joseph McEvoy (formerly of Queen’s University, Belfast, Universite Catholique De Louvain, NUI Maynooth and St. Malachy’s College, Belfast) died  on Saturday, on the Feast of the Guardian Angels, in Our Lady’s Home Belfast.

I did not know Fr. McEvoy personally, but have friends who did, and I have heard him spoken of very highly and with great affection on several occasions. In attendance at his funeral today were a multitude of priests in choir dress and  5 bishops.

  1. Rest in Peace Reverend Professor McEvoy. The Requiem Mass was a fitting tribute. Our world is poorer for his absence.

  2. Tu es Sacerdos in Aeternum, Jimmy

Thanks for letting my know you from the mid 1950s when you became a border at the Tower.

    May your soul, Jimmy,
And the souls of all the faithful departed,
    Through the mercy of God,
    Rest in peace,
    Now and for ever.
    Amen

  3. RIP
